Here is a list of our current projects:

Tiger Wash and Eagle Eye Road Crossing Hydrologic and Hydraulic Studies MCDOT, Maricopa County, AZ: Tiger Wash and Eagle Eye Road are located near the northwest of Maricopa County limit. The crossing is often flooded during a severe storm. Maricopa County Department ofTiger Wash MCDOT Project SEG Engineering Arizona Transportation (MCDOT) closed the road crossing during storms. After the storm, the MCDOT highway maintenance crew dewatered, and cleaned the road surface before the road is reopened to the public. MCDOT contracted Sustainability Engineering Group (SEG) and Parson Brinkerhoff to find out the best alternatives to solve the existing flooding problem.

The watershed of this study consists of 160 square mile and is mainly natural mountain reserve. SEG worked closely with the flood control district engineer and MCDOT engineering division to finalize hydrology technical parameters.
SEG prepared a Drainage Concept Report for Tiger Wash using field reviews, existing mapping, and other data that were available according to the latest versions (draft or effective) of the Maricopa County Drainage Policies and Standards manual and the Drainage Design Manuals for Maricopa County. The design discharge magnitudes for the 10, 50 and 100-year storm events were determined for wash crossing location.

The Drainage Concept Report included analysis of the 6-hour and 24-hour design storms. The hydraulic analysis evaluated hydraulic grade, energy grade, critical depth, flow regimes, culvert flow control, headwater, tail water, roadway overtopping, scour, sedimentation, and erosion protection measures for the Eagle Eye Road and Tiger Wash crossing.
The hydrologic and hydraulic studies have been performed using HEC-1 and HEC-RAS computer program. DDMSW computer problem is used to prepare the HEC-1 data input file.
